The Motorola Razi i is out this week, barging its Intel-powered behind into British shops and flaunting a 4.3-inch display.

The slender smart phone boasts an 'edge-to-edge' screen that has a notably slim bezel, making this a good looking device even if the term 'edge-to-edge' is a tad misleading.

It's powered by a 2GHz Intel processor, that my colleague Rich 'wrasslin' Trenholm deemed 'faster than a greased whippet' in his full review. That's pretty speedy -- we found this mobile trouncing mobiles like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and LG Optimus 2X in benchmark tests, even if it couldn't outpace the quad-core HTC One X.

You can buy the Razr i now at Phones 4u or Tesco Mobile, while Amazon will be flogging the phone for £345 SIM-free from Friday 5 October. Phones 4u is giving away a set of Motorokr S305 headphones to the first 500 people who order online.

We awarded the Razr i (the 'i' stands for 'Intel', in case you were wondering) three and a half stars, signalling that while this is a capable mobile, you might be better off buying the excellent HTC One S or Samsung Galaxy S2 .

Despite being part of Google, Motorola is shipping this phone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich , rather than the latest version, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean . That's a kick in the teeth, and Motorola doesn't have a great record when it comes to offering updates either, so be prepared to wait.

The Intel processor could throw up some unusual software oddities too. Motorola only squeezed the Chrome web browser onto the Razr i last week. Android enthusiasts, think carefully before acquiring this mobile.
