Magnets make spice storage fun
The Grant Howard Magnetic Spice Jar Set features a fun, stackable design. Embedded magnets allow for the spices to be stored in unexpected places.
Spices are like building blocks in a way. Both combine with other like (and sometimes unlike) elements to create something new and fascinating. In the case of spices, that means better-tasting food, a surefire plus in anybody's book. Something we have all read on practically any spice label is to "store in a cool and dry place." But it turns out there is another element to storage that spices apparently adore: a magnetic field.
The Grant Howard Magnetic Spice Jar Set features a fun, stackable design that allows one to truly customize the spice cabinet. The set of six glass jars each holds 6 ounces of spices or herbs and comes complete with lids and shaker tops. Embedded into the sides are two magnets, allowing the spice jars to be formed into convenient batches.
Grouping into like elements is only half the fun. With the embedded magnets, new and unexpected places could be found to store magnets. The refrigerator door would certainly be a candidate for storage. The spices would be easy to see, easy to reach, and could be arranged however one sees fit. Of course, kitchens aren't particularly well known for being a cool and dry place, but don't let that stop you from experimenting--both with building blocks and with spices.
