Last-minute Father's Day gift: One year of unlimited cloud storage for $79

Make sure Dad archives all those precious family photos and videos with this sweet coupon-only deal from Bitcasa.

Bitcasa

This is an update of a deal I wrote about earlier this year.

Need a last-minute Father's Day gift for Dad? Nothing says, "Thanks for being such a great guy" like unlimited online storage.

Through Sunday, you can get a one-year Bitcasa Infinite subscription for $79 when you apply coupon code JUSTFORDAD at checkout. That's not quite as sweet a deal as it was last time out (the subscription was $10 less), but it's still a very good price for Bitcasa's unique brand of no-limit cloud hold-'em.

The service supports all the major platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and Web. As with services like Dropbox and Google Drive, anything you add to your Bitcasa drive is available pretty much anywhere.

But on the desktop, it works like this: you use your Bitcasa Infinite Drive just like an external hard drive, dragging and dropping stuff there, and then, if you want to free up local space, deleting the originals.

But Bitcasa also supports mirroring, which really means syncing: you can "mirror" any folder to have its contents synced in your account. SugarSync offers this enviable feature as well, while Dropbox and SkyDrive limit syncing to designated folders.

The service also supports file sharing (via unique URLs generated on the fly) and the other usual cloud storage perks. On the mobile front, you can access your photos, music, videos, and so on.

In other words, it's just the kind of practical tool Dad likes. Sure, it'll be up to him to pay the cloud piper when the year is up, but once he gets a taste of unlimited storage, he probably won't mind. And, hey, you can always make this his Father's Day gift next year, too.
