Apple fans across the globe have barely begun downloading their iOS 7 update -- but the next update, iOS 7.0.1, is reported to be on its way. Thecome with iOS 7 already installed, yet are set for their first update as soon as you open the box.
As phone fans fume atto update their iPhones and iPads, those of you with plans to buy a new iPhone on Friday can afford to be smug in the knowledge you'll have all the straight out of the box. But according to code spotted by , the new phones need an update too.
Apple's iOS 7.0.1 update appears to be specifically aimed at the new phones, as it addresses a problem with the finger-reading Touch ID system. Touch ID is a fingerprint scanner set into the home button that recognises your loops and whorls to verify purchases in iTunes, saving you from typing in your Apple ID password every five blinkin' minutes.
The update to the update is expected on Friday, when the new metal iPhone 5S and plastic iPhone 5C go on sale in various countries. Many Apple fans have already ordered the 5C, but with no pre-orders available for the 5S, prospective owners have to actually head for an Apple Store or phone shop to bag a 5S on day one. Heck, someto be first in the queue.
