iPad games leaked ahead of launch

iPad versions of popular iPhone games are ready to play when Apple's latest shard of shiny hotness goes on sale. Many of the games will be marked 'HD' in reference to the iPad's higher-resolution screen, according to leaked information dug up by iPad blog PadGadget.
The games, including such all-time faves as, Worms and Plants vs Zombies, will appear as separate titles in the App Store. The games have now disappeared from a preview page on Apple's site, but give a good indication as to how developers plan to differentiate games for the two systems.
Normal iPhone games will work on the iPad, but won't necessarily look terribly good on the much larger screen. The iPad has a 1,024x768-pixel, 9.7-inch screen compared to the iPhone's 3.5 inches and 480x320 pixels. The iPad also has a more powerful 1GHz processor to shunt all those pixels around.
The iPad will be available to buy in the US on 3 April -- next Saturday -- and the UK in late April. UK prices haven't been announced here. For much more on the iPad read our in-depth preview and a whole host of news, FAQs, videos and photos at our iPad Central page.
