Intel to open first retail stores in time for the holidays

The first Intel Experience Store will open its door to customers in New York's Nolita neighborhood on November 23.

Intel is getting into the retail game right before the height of holiday shopping season.

The company announced on Wednesday that it will open its first pop-up retail store in the Nolita neighborhood of New York on November 23. The store will house Intel-based products, allowing customers to check out devices and order them online from within the store. Intel also said it will let the community test drive certain products at home.

Dubbed the Intel Experience Store, the outlet will also offer customers some extra perks like free coffee, speakers from the neighborhood, and movie viewing every Friday.

The pop-up store is the first of its kind from Intel. Two other Experience stores are slated for Chicago and Los Angeles.

Intel's New York store opens its doors at 10 a.m. on November 23.
