Having posted a smattering of Facebook-oriented deals in the past, let me preface this one by saying I'm aware many of you don't use Facebook. Or don't like Facebook. You're sick and tired of companies trying to market to you on Facebook. You don't think companies should require a Facebook account in exchange for a coupon or credit or giveaway. Facebook? Barf!

So, yeah, I get that. Just thought I'd save you a little comment-section grouse time.

If, on the other hand, you like easy savings and don't hold Facebook in the same regard as Darth Vader, Lord Voldemort, and the IRS, here's a pretty nice little offer: Get $5 off your next $25 Amazon purchase when you "Share & Claim" the offer via Facebook.

Just type in the name of the person who's "at the top of your holiday gift list," then click the blue Share & Claim button. From there you'll head to Facebook, where you'll need to jump a couple of simple "get offer" hoops. When you're done, you'll have a $5 credit in your account that should be applied the next time you make a purchase of $25 or more.

The only real catch is that you need to make that purchase before midnight (PT) this Sunday, Dec. 9. Also, Amazon does note that there's a limited quantity available, so this offer could potentially "sell out." Oh, and I'm afraid it's for U.S. customers only.

I've seen Amazon give away video and MP3 credits before, but I can't recall an outright cash discount on any purchase. Sure, it's not a fortune, but last I checked, five bucks is five bucks. I'm in. You?
