Elgato Eve will monitor the air in your house, works with iOS 8 HomeKit
Elgato's upcoming smart home tech promises to measure the quality of air in your home, as well as energy and water consumption.
Fancy knowing the air pressure in your home at all times? Of course you do. Elgato hopes to make that dream a reality, teasing its upcoming home monitoring system, called Eve, which uses sensors to keep tabs on your domicile.
The app-powered system will rely on a line of sensors to harvest information on the temperature, air quality, humidity, water and air consumption in your house, as well as that all-important air pressure. Excitingly, the setup will work with Apple's upcoming HomeKit smart home technology.
Elgato says that Eve sensors will be available to buy later this year, with the app that visualises your data ready once iOS 8 and HomeKit are up and running.
Avea bulbs on sale
Elgato has also put some smart lightbulbs on sale. The Avea smart LED bulbs will each cost $50 in the US or £40 if you're in the UK, available to buy from Elgato's website. Unlike some smart lightbulbs, they connect directly to an iPhone or iPad using Bluetooth tech, so you can control colours and lighting scenes from your mobile gadget of choice. You don't require a gateway or bridge device -- something required by bulb sets like Philips' Hue.
Eve and Avea will be on show at the IFA tech trade show going down this week in Berlin. Make sure you stayed glued to CNET's coverage of the show for all the latest news from Samsung, Sony and all the biggest names in tech.
