DeltaWing hooks up with Nissan, goes Batmobile

We take an exhaustive look at a blacked-out Nissan race car worthy of Bruce Wayne himself.

Batman returns. Nissan

The epic 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race on June 16-17 features a sensational vehicle that may remind one of the Batmobile.

We covered the DeltaWing previously, and now a few new developments and content make the innovative race car worth looking at again. For starters, a fresh black paint job makes this whip appear like it came from the prototype area of the Batcave. This video from Nissan Europe (below) shows some seriously sexy shots of the car and a dyno run. It also includes some introspective thoughts from the DeltaWing project developers.

The company that built DeltaWing, All American Racers, chose Nissan as the supplier of the vehicle's four-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, which tops out at 300 horsepower. A press release states that the nimble car features "half the weight and half the aerodynamic drag of a conventional racer" and uses Michelin tires.

Take a peep at our lengthy slideshow, which shows off more angles and factoids about this spicy set of wheels.

And check out this amazing view from behind the driver's seat of the DeltaWing, which may give you an idea of what it's like to cruise around Gotham City at high speed.
