The smoke has risen from the chimney of the one-bedroom cave in which Conan O'Brien now lives.
For what seemed like an ungodly eternity, the former host of "The Tonight Show" was following no one on his Twitter account. While untold hordes hung on his every spare word, not one human or cat was offered the merest gaze of the ginger one's interest.
With one tweet, all has changed. For O'Brien tweeted Friday that he has decided to follow one random human and change that person's life.
The fortunate recipient of O'Brien's attention is at twitter.com/lovelybutton. Sarah Killen, for it is she, appears to live in Michigan. And the rules by which she lives seem stunningly akin to those of senior members of NBC's hierarchy: "I love to smile and have fun in life. I think that anyone and anything can be forgiven, and we should all just love and be."
O'Brien's tweet mentions that she likes peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs. Strangely, Sarah herself tweets that she dreams of being on "Chelsea Lately."
Who could but doubt that this just might be a wise and witty marketing element for O'Brien's, gosh, tour that was firmly suggested by E! Online just more than an hour after he, or one of his handmaidens, posted this tweet?
I know so many of you will soon be making Sarah's acquaintance. Please be polite.
