Bible of Barbecue turns into a full BBQ kit

A manual on how to grill the perfect barbecue can also be ripped apart and used as a kit for barbecuing.

We've seen a book for drinking -- now take a gander at this book for feasting. Unlike The Drinkable Book, Biblia Definitiva Do Churrasco (The Bible of Barbecue) is more of a luxury item, targeted at chefs and intended to promote Tramontina cookware.

Marketing or not, it's undeniable that the book is a thing of beauty -- and each page of the book, while delivering instructions on how to grill up a Brazilian-style barbecue, can also be used in the actual cooking of said barbecue.

One heavy insert lifts out and shatters into shards of grilling coal, while a second sheet has been specially treated to burn slowly to light the coal, and a third sheet folds into a concertina fan to feed the flames.

Other parts of the book serve different purposes. The heavy wooden cover doubles as a chopping board; a salted sheet allows you to season your meat; another treated sheet is a knife sharpener; a cloth pulls out so that you can wipe your blade. One insert even folds out to become an apron.

The book, alas, was only given out to a few chefs -- although the creative agency that designed it, JWT Brazil, intends to release a simplified version to be sold in Brazil. We hope a translation follows not far behind.
