Uber, the popular ride-sharing service, announced on Tuesday that it's opening up version 3.0 of its Android app for beta testing.

The update is more than just a simple bug fix and performance improvement. The company says the Uber app has been completely rebuilt, with new features added. Anyone with an Android device is welcome to take part in the beta, but you'll need to follow some simple steps first.

  1. Click here to join the Uber Google+ community for the Android beta.
  2. After you've joined the Google+ community, you'll have access to this page. Click on the "Become A Tester" button.
  3. Lastly, click on "Download Uber from the Play Store" at the bottom of the page. If you closed out the page or can't find the link, you can simply visit Uber in the Play Store or check for app updates on your Android device.

Any feedback on the beta should be posted in the Google+ community you joined in Step 1.
