Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite (120GB)
Reviewed on April 27, 2007
While it's neither a must-have upgrade for existing 360 owners nor as feature-packed as the PS3, the Xbox 360 Elite's combination of top-notch gaming and digital media features make it the current game console of choice.

Sony PlayStation 3 (60GB)
Reviewed on November 13, 2006
The high-end Sony PlayStation 3's larger hard drive and ability to play PS2 games makes it a worthwhile alternative to the cheaper model--so long as you're willing to wait several months for the more promising exclusive titles to hit store shelves. If backward compatibility is your top priority, this hard-to-find model may be worth the search.

Nintendo Wii (original, Wii Sports bundle)
Reviewed on November 13, 2006
If you don't mind the dearth of HD graphics, the Nintendo Wii's combination of motion-sensitive controllers, included Wii Sports titles, and emphasis on fun gameplay make the ultra-affordable console hard to resist.

Sony PlayStation 3 (40GB)
Reviewed on November 8, 2007
While Sony has cut a few corners to get its entry-level PlayStation 3 below $400, it's still a great game console and Blu-ray player for the money--so long as you can live without backward compatibility for PS2 games.

Nintendo Wii Hardware Bundle (Red, Remote Plus)
Reviewed on November 22, 2010
For families and lovers of casual games, the still-affordable Wii represents the best console bundle value of the holiday season in terms of dollars spent; however, the Wii's getting long in the tooth, and other game consoles offer more entertainment options and functionality for their higher price tags.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Live Vision Camera
Reviewed on September 28, 2006
Microsoft's answer to Sony's EyeToy camera, the affordable Xbox Live Vision Camera for Xbox 360 may not yet be a must-have Xbox 360 accessory, but we suspect that as Microsoft upgrades Xbox Live to include more Vision features, it will be.

Kanex XD
Reviewed on May 27, 2010
Own a 27-inch iMac? Dying to connect a game console, Blu-ray player, or other HDMI-equipped device? Cursing Apple for using Mini DisplayPort instead of HDMI for video input? The situation might be frustrating, but that doesn't make the Kanex XD adapter less effective. We recommend it to those looking to bridge the gap between the living room and their large iMac.
