Gateway FX7026
Reviewed on June 25, 2008
The Gateway FX7026 offers a quad-core processor at a modest price tag with specifications that any high-end gamer will be satisfied with. You might want to replace the peripherals and the video card down the road, but this system is an excellent option for a nonconfigurable, off the shelf desktop.

Gateway FX530XT (Windows Vista)
Reviewed on February 15, 2007
We liked this system when we covered its Windows XP-based debut back in November. The big news here is that Gateway has added an option for Windows Vista. Unfortunately, it's an awkward time for high-end gaming PCs to use Microsoft's new operating system, and Gateway hasn't adjusted well. We'd stick with the older model.

Uberclok Ion
Reviewed on February 8, 2008
Thanks to its overclocked CPU and 3D card, the Uberclok Ion delivers excellent performance for its price. It also offers a reliable upgrade path due to its SLI motherboard. We also like its Web site. We'd like to see more from Uberclok before we make too strong a recommendation, but this system makes a great first impression.

Ultimate X8 III
Reviewed on March 19, 2007
ABS's Ultimate X8 Stealth Extreme is most definitely not stealthy thanks to its loud cooling hardware, but for sheer bang-for-the-buck, this high-end gaming PC has a lot to recommend it. Whether you like it as is, or plan to make upgrades later, this PC makes a strong gaming box. Just don't expect it to win any design awards.

ABS Ultimate X Striker Elite
Reviewed on April 10, 2007
We'd give ABS credit for the innovative, tinker-friendly case lighting advertised on its site, except that this model doesn't have it. For that, you need to order it with a special motherboard. That MIA feature aside, we like this gaming system for its bang-for-the-buck, tidy design, and overall robust set of features. Just get ready to spend a little.
