The JVC HA-NCX77 Noise Canceling Earbuds inspire little complaint. Good sound quality, useful extras, and a relatively low price point make them a fine option for commuters and frequent fliers.

The Sony NWZ-A810 offers a fantastic display, a sleek design and interface, and a stellar battery life--plus, it's one of the few MP3 players that sound great right out of the box. Users looking for the whole package (sans radio) will be pleased.

If you already own a Bluetooth-capable music device and like the headset-like design, the iSkin Cerulean F1 is an OK choice for cutting the cord between you and your player. However, the cost of the headphones plus the necessary transmitter add-on for the iPod is prohibitive, considering the unimpressive audio quality.

Far from being an audiophile pick, the Jabra C220s Flexible Stereo Headset will suit on-the-go types whose cell phones double as MP3 players and are concerned far less with sound quality than portability.
