Although we have some minor criticisms, the 2008 BMW 135i is, overall, an excellent car to drive every day or take out on the track. It scores big in performance and cabin tech.

We found the 2007 BMW 328xi more at home driving twisty mountain roads than mall parking lots. Its interior quality may tempt drivers looking for a luxury ride, but only sport drivers should consider this car.

If you approach life as one big Grand Prix, the BMW 530i is definitely your $50,000-ish sedan. If you aren't a type-A personality, find a Lexus dealer.

The 2008 BMW M3 is a tame lion. It's easy to handle among traffic and urban driving, while ferocious on the track or out in the hills. Its cabin electronics are among the best available.

People who appreciate fine engineering will find much to love in the 2007 BMW 335i Convertible's power train. The stereo and navigation system are good, while cell phone integration is excellent. But it's not the most practical car for moving people and luggage.

An excellent sports car, the 2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe has a lot of weird little quirks that take getting used to, such as learning how to control its cabin tech. Spend some time with it, though, and it will grow on you.

Although it's an SUV, the 2007 BMW X5 is for people who appreciate performance. Everything about the car is rock solid, from its cabin tech to its handling, and we would feel as comfortable driving it on windy mountain roads as we would over icy terrain.

The 2007 BMW X3 3.0si feels dated, and we expect a model upgrade soon. While it drives well, there's nothing particularly special about its cabin tech. We would want something more modern for its high sticker price.

The 2008 BMW 750i is a big sport luxury sedan that is, in many ways, everything we would expect from BMW, but it suffers from some older technology that needs an update.

The 2008 BMW 128i Convertible is an easy car to drive, but not as sporty as other models from the company. Options jack up the price pretty quickly, but without them, it's not much of a tech car.

The design of the 2008 BMW X6 might be polarizing, although we have yet to meet someone who loves it, and it will take that kind of love to fork over the money for one. Although it has excellent cabin electronics and superior handling, it is far from a practical car.
