Asus G60VX-RBBX05
Reviewed on December 3, 2009
Packed with a great graphics card and good audio, but lacking Intel's latest Core i7 chip, the Asus G60VX-RBBX05 is a very solid all-around gaming solution for less than $1,000.

Velocity Micro Vector Holiday Edition (overclocked Intel Core i5 760)
Reviewed on December 2, 2010
Velocity Micro's Vector Holiday Edition offers one of the best deals we've ever seen in a mainstream PC. For under $1,000, this system provides a Blu-ray drive, overachieving speed, and room to grow in an attractive, well-built package. We enthusiastically recommend this system to anyone looking for a fast, affordable computer.

Samsung Q430-11
Reviewed on July 28, 2010
An impressively designed surprise, the Samsung Q430-11 is a feature-packed, fast laptop that looks more expensive than it is.

Acer Aspire G5900-U3092 Predator - Core i7 870 2.93GHz
Reviewed on December 8, 2010
Even if we hadn't seen faster PCs for less this holiday season, we'd still take issue with the value proposition of the Acer Aspire Predator G5900-U3092. With few extra features or connectivity options to justify its $1,349 price tag, this PC trades primarily on its unique design--a poor substitute for useful functionality.

Lenovo IdeaCentre A700-40244CU
Reviewed on November 11, 2010
The Lenovo IdeaCentre A700 40244CU comes in an attractive, thoughtfully designed package, but overall it lacks substance given its high price tag. Only buy if you put a premium on looks and external device compatibility.

Sony VAIO J114FX (21.5 inch)
Reviewed on September 3, 2010
We like the idea of a Blu-ray-equipped all-in-one with a small footprint for home entertainment, but Sony badly missed the mark with the Vaio J114FX. In trying to make this system focused, Sony cut too many features. The result is that this PC is a terrible value relative to other all-in-ones in its price range.

Gateway FX 6840-15e - Core i7 870 2.93GHz
Reviewed on November 30, 2010
Gateway's by-the-numbers FX6840-15e shows how mainstream PC vendors can fall down compared with their smaller, hungrier competition. This isn't a bad computer, but you can find faster gaming PCs elsewhere for less.

Gateway One ZX6900-01e
Reviewed on July 2, 2010
The Gateway One ZX6900-01e is a great deal thanks to its 23-inch display, Blu-ray drive, and speedy performance. It has a few annoying shortcomings. A lack of an HDMI input, in particular, keeps it from greatness, but overall we'd recommend this desktop to anyone in the market for a well-rounded all-in-one PC.

Velocity Micro Edge Z30 (Intel Core i7)
Reviewed on September 10, 2009
Velocity Micro's Edge Z30 is the best deal going right now for midlevel gaming PCs featuring Intel's new Core i7 chips. The overclocked Core i7 860, a fast Nvidia graphics card, and a solid selection of features all around make it easy for us to recommend this system to anyone looking for a capable gaming desktop.

LaCie d2 External Blu-ray burner (2X BD-R/E)
Reviewed on July 24, 2007
The LaCie d2 Blu-ray burner offers good performance speeds, but it's still prohibitively expensive. Home users should wait for Blu-ray burners to drop in price and improve in performance.
