Reviewed on June 30, 2009HP's Pavilion p6110y isn't necessarily an offensive system, and its case might even entice you to give it a second look. We just wish HP had taken a more substantive approach to help this desktop stand out. Its FireWire port might sway you, but otherwise you can find more interesting features from other PCs on the shelf.TAGS:HP Pavilion, HP Pavilion SlimLine, ASUS, FireWire, HP, retailer, Gateway Inc., HDMI, Intel, Intel Pentium, motherboard, PC
Reviewed on July 2, 2009The Asus Essentio CM5570-AP002 isn't an overly remarkable desktop, but it has a few extra features that help it stand out. Its Wi-Fi and HDMI video out port give it some unique capabilities, and the best part is that Asus still manages to keep the price down. It's hard not to like this system, even though we wish Asus had more comprehensive support.TAGS:ASUS, HP Pavilion SlimLine, Blu-ray drive, HP Pavilion, Blu-ray, Intel, Gateway Inc., HP, 64-bit, Intel Pentium, PC, Microsoft Windows
Reviewed on February 16, 2009Thanks to its price, size, touch screen, and semiportability, the Asus Eee Top ET1602 presents a lot of usage options. Put it in the kitchen, den, or even a hallway, and it can serve as an easy information hub for your family. Just don't put it on a desk, where a desktop or a laptop will be much better suited for serious work.TAGS:HP TouchSmart, ASUS, hub, shortcut, HP, keyboard, LCD, mouse, laptop computer, adapter, Microsoft Windows
Reviewed on July 31, 2009We've never loved HP's Pavilion Elite PCs, and this desktop offers the same scattershot configuration that has always put us off. That said, we suspect a dorm room might actually be an appropriate place for a midtower that offers acceptable speed on top of Blu-ray capability. Just know that faster, more specialized desktops are available for less.TAGS:HP Pavilion Elite, HP Pavilion, Blu-ray, ASUS, HP, 64-bit, networking, Ethernet, AMD, 3D, hard drive
Reviewed on July 16, 2009With more aggressive competition on retail shelves, the HP Pavilion p6130y isn't a particularly compelling desktop computer thanks to underwhelming features and poor performance. We only recommend this system if you truly need the hand-holding that comes with the support of a major U.S. PC vendor.TAGS:HP Pavilion, ASUS, Dell Inspiron, quad-core, digital audio, Ethernet, HP, 64-bit, FireWire, Dell, Gateway Inc., AMD, PC, games
Reviewed on July 23, 2009The Asus Essentio CM5570-AP006 will give you fair performance and a well-rounded set of features for its price, and we recommend it if you specifically need a midbudget, midtower desktop. In the grand scheme of retail PCs, however, a more affordable slimtower from Gateway gives this system a major challenge on performance and value, which dampens our enthusiasm for the Asus.TAGS:ASUS, Dell Inspiron, HP Pavilion, Gateway Inc., HP, networking, Dell, 64-bit, video card, games, PC
Reviewed on April 27, 2009We suspect lower-end configurations of the Dell Studio One 19 all-in-one desktop will draw consumers looking for a low-cost, "fast enough" PC. But even its multitouch interface can't save our expensive review unit from other vendors' similarly priced all-in-ones with better features for the dollar.TAGS:HP TouchSmart, Dell Studio, tablet, Dell, Sony Vaio, ASUS, keyboard, Sony Corp., HP, Microsoft Windows
Reviewed on April 8, 2008Despite an underpowered CPU, the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC offers the best balance of small size, comfort, and functionality we've seen in a mininotebook, making it fast a favorite for on-the-go use.TAGS:Asus Eee PC, Netbook, keyboard, webcam, resolution, HP, ASUS, laptop computer, Intel, PC
Reviewed on August 25, 2009Acer's Aspire M5800-U5802A could use some visual polish, but get past its appearance and you'll find a fast, affordable computer that will handle any task you care to throw at it. It's even a decent low-end gaming box. We'd only recommend against this desktop if you demand a computer's appearance match its capabilities.TAGS:Acer Aspire, HP Pavilion Elite, Acer Inc., cover, Gateway Inc., HP Pavilion, 64-bit, ASUS, NVidia, Intel, HP
Reviewed on July 6, 2009You might find a better deal from Dell if you configure an Inspiron 537s online, but this retail only model has little to recommend it. From slow performance to a weak feature-set, this budget slimtower is outclassed by too many other retail desktops.TAGS:HP Pavilion SlimLine, Gateway Inc., Dell Inspiron, HP Pavilion, Dell, 64-bit, ASUS, Intel, CPU, HP, video
Reviewed on March 10, 2006The Asus MyPal A636 is a PDA with a built-in GPS receiver that puts maps and directions on an equal footing with appointments and e-mail. While it delivers accurate directions and long battery life, it's a bit sluggish.TAGS:ASUS, HP iPaq, HP
