Apple iMac (24-inch, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Winter 2009)
Reviewed on March 4, 2009
Apple made a number of changes to this $1,499 iMac, but making a 24-inch screen available at this price is the most impressive. The rest of the updates are welcome, and Apple's multitasking capability remains unmatched. Provided you like your all-in-ones best as straightforward desktop computers, the iMac will meet your expectations with speed and elegance.

Apple MobileMe
Reviewed on July 14, 2008
If Apple irons out the kinks, MobileMe could be worthwhile for iLife and iPhone users who want to keep data on their Macs, handset, iPod Touch, as well as Outlook mail and calendars on the same page.

Dell Studio MT
Reviewed on October 24, 2008
This off-the-shelf version of the Dell Studio Desktop reminds us of a classic Dell computer. This system is faster and better equipped than its competition, and at a better price. You can certainly get away with a cheaper everyday PC, but this one is a bargain among lower midrange desktops.

Apple iMac (20-inch, 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Winter 2009)
Reviewed on March 10, 2009
A few other all-in-ones make this 20-inch iMac look expensive on a dollars-per-screen-inch basis, but none are as attractive or as capable juggling multiple programs. With a fast dual-core CPU and a strong array of features, Apple's updated all-in-one will slide seamlessly into a variety of roles at home or at work.

Sony Vaio JS250J
Reviewed on May 7, 2009
Instead of succumbing to the latest fads, the Sony Vaio JS250J all-in-one PC stays the course pioneered by its models from last year, delivering capable performance and best-of-breed home entertainment features at a better price than its all-in-one competition. The Vaio JS250J will appeal to anyone in need of a multipurpose home PC.

Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station (draft 802.11n)
Reviewed on April 17, 2007
The Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station is a solid router that keeps up with the Draft N competition. Unfortunately, we've yet to test a Draft N router that lives up to the promise of 802.11n. As with the rest of the .11n routers we've tested, we advise you postpone your purchase until the spec is finalized.

Apple MacBook Pro (15.4-inch, 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo)
Reviewed on March 3, 2006
The MacBook Pro delivers unparalleled style, a solid set of features and software, and a few transitional performance issues that keep it from rivaling the most powerful PC laptops.

HP Pavilion Elite m9402f
Reviewed on October 31, 2008
HP's Pavilion Elite m9402f continues to frustrate us in its core design. This off-the-shelf Best Buy system is also overpriced compared with faster, more feature-rich PCs from its competition. With little to recommend this desktop, we suggest you keep shopping.

AOpen MiniPC Duo MP945-V
Reviewed on May 25, 2006
The clone that comes closest to the nearly flawless Mac Mini, AOpen's MiniPC Duo MP945-V would be easier to recommend if it hit the same price point as Apple's pocket-size box.
