HP Pavilion Elite m9300t
Reviewed on August 18, 2008
At its heart, the HP Pavilion Elite m9300t is a fast, competitive midtower desktop with lots of flexibility in its configuration. You just have to wade through some clunky design and a few components you might not want in order to find it.

eMachines T5048
Reviewed on September 26, 2006
Though it's a capable PC, particularly for the price, the budget eMachines T5048 starts to lose its appeal when you look at desktops that cost just $100 or so more. It's is a good pick if you need to keep to a strict budget, but otherwise we recommend spending a little more.

Maingear F131 SLI
Reviewed on June 29, 2007
Maingear's F131 SLI takes it to the high-end PC competition, earning itself an Editors' Choice in the process. Without having the full picture of DirectX 10 performance, you're potentially taking a risk buying a high-end gaming PC now. But if you need to make that purchase today, we recommend Maingear with enthusiasm.

AVADirect Core 2 Duo SLI
Reviewed on April 12, 2007
This is AVA Direct's debut PC with CNET, and we like what we see so far. A few minor design and config issues aside, the overclocked parts squeeze as much performance as possible, while helping to keep the price somewhat reasonable. We're eager to see more from this small vendor.

Maingear X-Cube (Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6800)
Reviewed on May 9, 2007
Maingear's sharp, tidy X-Cube packs a mostly powerful gaming punch. It loses a few steps due to Vista, and we wish it had a few more features. With so much in PC gaming in flux, we're also reluctant to recommend such a pricey purchase now. But if you need a fast, small gaming PC today, the X-Cube mostly delivers.

eMachines T3626
Reviewed on November 6, 2007
They don't call them budget PCs for nothing. If price is your first concern, the eMachines T3626 seems to offer the best computing deal for the money, but only thanks to its $50 rebate. If you can stand to spend $400 or more, you can get substantially more computer for your dollar.

Falcon Northwest Mach V (Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770)
Reviewed on May 29, 2008
The Falcon Northwest Mach V is an expensive, very well-built high-end gaming PC. It features the latest in almost everything, with the top-end performance to match. True snobs will want faster memory, but aside from that, the Mach V gets almost everything right.
