For boardrooms and public spaces in need of a LCD conversation piece, the Dell Crystal might find a home. For those not operating on a bloated corporate budget, however, there are plenty of other 22-inch LCDs that cost a fraction of the cost.

Though the 19-inch wide-screen ViewSonic VA1912wb looks modest, it packs a punch, with above-average performance, full-sounding built-in speakers, and a very sweet price.

While its ability to connect to your PC via USB makes the Samsung SyncMaster 940UX a convenient second monitor, LG has a cheaper and larger DisplayLink model that also boasts better overall performance.

The LL-T17D4 is an average-performing, average-price LCD with embedded speakers. If said speakers weren't so utterly below average, it would be a decent choice for the average home user.

The wide-screen Philips Brilliance 200W6CB display performs quite well and offers some useful extras (that will cost you extra), but other displays offer more flexibility in form and function.

This reasonably priced LCD has decent image quality and some nice extras, but it sacrifices some basics, such as adjustability. It could be a good purchase for someone on a budget.
