Even though the Pantech Duo has an impressive feature set that include 3G/HSDPA support, we were ultimately disappointed with its subpar design.

The Pantech Matrix Pro is a decent Windows Mobile smartphone, but its clunky design and lack of Wi-Fi are disappointing.

If you're a MySpace addict or a wannabe hipster, the Hero from Helio may be for you. But no instant messaging and no Bluetooth plus lackluster media options and a high price tag means the Hero definitely isn't for everyone.

The Helio Heat is a decent affordable alternative to the Drift, but the trade-offs are high. Even though we were willing to forgive its low-grade speakerphone and lack of microSD card slot due to its lower price tag, the mediocre sound quality and unintuitive touch-pad buttons might be enough to make you plunk down the extra cash for the Drift instead.
