The Eclipse AVN726e will cover most users' hands-free calling, navigation, audio, and visual needs in a single installation. It is also an excellent starting point for system builders.

The Panasonic Strada CN-NVD905U is a stylish, user-friendly entrant to the in-dash navigation market. It delivers decent GPS navigation and media playback, but doesn't raise the bar in either department.

The 2009 Toyota Corolla is your classic commuter, good on fuel economy and reasonably comfortable. But its cabin tech isn't particularly impressive and doesn't go out of its way to work with personal electronics.

The 2008 Subaru Legacy 3.0 R Limited makes for a good car in a variety of driving conditions, but its cabin tech tops out at a decent navigation system, with only a passable stereo.

DeLorme Street Atlas USA 2006 isn't as easy to use as Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006, but it displays far more restaurants and other attractions. Its comprehensiveness makes it a solid buy.

Though the multimedia features are poorly integrated and some interface issues remain, the Averatec Voya 320 is an accurate navigator and an excellent value for those looking for a basic and affordable GPS unit.
