If all you need is a capable PC with a decent hard drive, you can get away with a less expensive dual-core system. -

Reviewed on July 10, 2008 As much as we like the look and feel of Velocity Micro's Vector Campus Edition desktop, we can't recommend it. It suffers from poor bang-for-the-buck, a lack of configurable options, and a narrow upgrade path. -

Reviewed on April 12, 2007 This is AVA Direct's debut PC with CNET, and we like what we see so far. A few minor design and config issues aside, the overclocked parts squeeze as much performance as possible, while helping to keep the price somewhat reasonable. We're eager to see more from this small vendor. -

Reviewed on August 10, 2007 AVADirect's newest Core 2 Duo SLI desktop would be a great buy for a gamer looking to dominate on a current-generation title. We wish it had a quad-core chip, and we'd also rather that tweaking this configuration didn't involve choosing from such a vast array of parts. AVADirect seems to build quality PCs, including this one, but you should definitely go to its Web site knowing what you're looking for. -

Reviewed on April 10, 2007 We'd give ABS credit for the innovative, tinker-friendly case lighting advertised on its site, except that this model doesn't have it. For that, you need to order it with a special motherboard. That MIA feature aside, we like this gaming system for its bang-for-the-buck, tidy design, and overall robust set of features. Just get ready to spend a little. -

Reviewed on May 4, 2007 Velocity Micro's PCs are always easy on the eyes, and that trend continues with this midrange gaming model. We have some reservations about its performance for the cost, but if you're inclined toward upgrading you might be willing to forgive that it's a little slow today.
