Although we really liked the 2007 Mazda CX-7 during our test period, it wasn't outstanding in any particular way. It came equipped with a good stereo system and good navigation, and proved practical for getting around, and even fun to drive at times.

Although it's an SUV, the 2007 BMW X5 is for people who appreciate performance. Everything about the car is rock solid, from its cabin tech to its handling, and we would feel as comfortable driving it on windy mountain roads as we would over icy terrain.

The 2007 Audi Q7 works well from a luxury perspective, although its cabin tech isn't exactly cutting edge. Although features such as quattro and the adaptive air suspension indicate off-road aspirations, people who can afford this car are likely to stay on the pavement.

The 2007 BMW X3 3.0si feels dated, and we expect a model upgrade soon. While it drives well, there's nothing particularly special about its cabin tech. We would want something more modern for its high sticker price.
