If you shoot primarily outdoors in daytime--especially sports, children and animals--the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9 is a great choice. The cheaper DSC-H7 has a smaller LCD, lacks infrared shooting, and has a few interface differences, but is otherwise identical.

Unless you're prepared to spend a disproportionate amount of money on a really good lens, the resolution bump offered by the Sony Alpha DSLR-A350 isn't worth the price.

Manual control and 5 megapixels may seem enticing for this price, but the Samsung Digimax S500's poor image quality will bring you back to reality.

The Samsung Digimax S800 has tons of controls for its price range, but confusing menus and poor image quality outweigh these advantages.
