With its low price, great performance, and many features, the Dell SP2309W is a sound buy for a 23-inch monitor.

The Lenovo ThinkVision L2440x is a well-designed 24-inch LCD monitor that's great for movies and games, but the display (and its LED backlighting) is too expensive for the performance and features it supplies.

We're not overly impressed with NEC's LCD193WXM monitor. The 19-inch wide-screen LCD has strong enough image quality for the price, but NEC seems to equate utilitarianism with missing features. We wouldn't expect a $200 19-inch screen to bowl anyone over, but competing displays seem to try harder.

The BenQ FP231W is great for viewing horizontal spreadsheets or multiple documents at once.
