Still among the best all-around seven-passenger luxury SUVs, the 2008 Acura MDX never disappoints (except perhaps in its looks), but is due for some cabin tech updates and a little more power to match its handling.

Although none of its cabin tech is over the top, the 2009 Acura TSX offers a complete roster of useful in-dash gadgets. Its enjoyable driving characteristics make it a great driver in a variety of situations, from commute traffic to road trips.

We would have been thrilled with this car two years ago, but the competition has caught up, and in some cases surpassed Acura. A lot of the tech comes straight from the 2005 Acura RL model with little improvement in the interceding two years.

The 2008 Acura TL Type-S is very fun to drive, but a number of small issues keep it from being a top performer. To stay on the cutting edge of tech, its cabin electronics need a makeover.

Our criticisms of the 2006 Acura RL are minor compared to all it has to offer. It's marketed as a high-tech car and delivers on all fronts, from live traffic on its navigation screen to cutting-edge driving technology.

The restyled 2008 Honda Accord EX-L looks good and offers a very comfortable drive. It works well as a commuter and family car, and its low emissions make it an environmentally conscious choice, but don't expect the most cutting-edge cabin tech.

You won't notice the 2007 Acura RL's shortcomings if you don't push it hard, and its cabin gadgets are very easy to use. If it weren't for the mediocre fuel economy, the RL would be a very good high-tech commute car.

For around 30 grand, you can put a lot more excitement into your life than is offered by the 2007 Acura TSX. But the TSX is a good value with real geek appeal, bringing in a complete set of cabin gadgets for a good price.
