Reviewed on November 15, 2010 From fast performance, to a Blu-ray drive, to plentiful other features, HP's Pavilion Slimline includes almost everything we'd ask for in our ideal living-room slim tower PC. It will seem expensive if you're more inclined to get a Nettop or a set-top box, but for committed PC media enthusiasts, this HP offers the complete package. Reviewed on September 15, 2010 You'll probably decide pretty quickly whether you like the Acer Aspire Predator's looks. Those in favor will also find a higher-end gaming PC with reasonably fast performance and plenty of room to expand and upgrade. Not everyone will appreciate the Predator's visual charms, but we recommend this PC to those who do. Reviewed on April 20, 2010 HP's new Pavilion All-in-One 200-5020 might not be the most innovative PC around, but it has the performance and features where it counts. Unless you demand a touch screen, or you have some other niche demand, this PC will satisfy all of your light-duty home entertainment and productivity needs. Reviewed on November 12, 2008 Velocity Micro's Edge Z55 provides a powerful example of the leap ahead in performance afforded by Intel's new Core i7 CPUs. Velocity Micro's own overclocking efforts don't hurt either. Any PC gamer would love to make this upper midrange desktop their own. TAGS: Velocity Micro, Acer Inc., 64-bit, Intel, Radeon, hard drive, games, CPU, PC CNET review: 8.3 Excellent User rating: 6.6 Good Check prices$1,522.19 -
Reviewed on December 8, 2010 Even if we hadn't seen faster PCs for less this holiday season, we'd still take issue with the value proposition of the Acer Aspire Predator G5900-U3092. With few extra features or connectivity options to justify its $1,349 price tag, this PC trades primarily on its unique design--a poor substitute for useful functionality. TAGS: Velocity Micro, Blu-ray drive, Acer Inc., Acer Aspire, optical drive, Blu-ray, 64-bit, Windows 7, Intel, motherboard, CPU, hard drive, PC, Microsoft Windows CNET review: 5.8 Average User rating: 7.0 Very good Check prices$2,182.51 -
Reviewed on June 29, 2010 On first inspection the HP TouchSmart 300-1120 seems like a capable enough all-in-one, but it loses a lot of appeal once you compare it with others on the market. If you want an all-in-one PC for the kitchen counter, this system may work for you. For general computing or home entertainment needs, you can find several other all-in-ones with better features for the price. Reviewed on December 4, 2009 With a small screen for its price, we can't justify the TouchSmart 300 as a home entertainment all-in-one PC. It's also slower than more affordable midtowers, so you can spend less for more productivity. This leaves HP's touch-based software as the TouchSmart 300's primary selling point. We'd recommend this PC in the kitchen, but it's less appealing elsewhere.
