O2 insists iPhone 5S and 5C will work on O2 4G, despite Apple listing
O2 has confirmed that the new iPhone 5S and 5C will work on O2 4G, despite Apple's listing that it won't.

O2 has confirmed that both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will be compatible with its 4G network, despite a listing on Apple's own website that they won't.
In a statement given to CNET, O2 explained "both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C will support O2 4G. More information will be available soon". Apple's own site suggests that both phones will only be compatible with EE and Vodafone's 4G spectrum, making no reference to O2's recently launched super-speedy network or Three's upcoming offering.
Take a big sigh of relief if you've just signed up to O2, hoping to snag the latest iPhone on its Refresh plan though. I reached out to Three to confirm whether it will support the new blowers, but it wasn't able to confirm at the time of writing. I'll update this article when I hear more.
There's no word yet from any of the networks on how much you'll have to splash out to grab either phone on 3G or 4G contracts yet though. If you want the phones SIM-free though, you'll be paying £469 or £549 for the 16 or 32GB iPhone 5C or £549, £629 and £709 for the 16, 32 and 64GB versions of the more luxurious iPhone 5S.
Both new phones will be available on the Apple store from 20 September. It's likely that all the networks will have the phone ready at the same time, so keep your eyes peeled for more info on price plans over the coming few days.
