Motorola's Moto Maxx wings to Brazil, Mexico, Latin America
As a GSM version of the recently launched Motorola Droid Turbo, the smartphone promises 48 hours of battery life and super-fast charging.
Motorola on Wednesday announced a GSM variant of its latest Android creation, the Motorola Droid Turbo . Dubbed the Moto Maxx, the phone touches down in select markets starting today.
Like the Verizon smartphone introduced just days ago, the Moto Maxx boasts top-notch hardware. Present here are the 5.2-inch Quad-HD 2,560x1,440 pixel display, a 21-megapixel rear camera, and a 3,900mAh battery.
Although the battery is rated to last up to 48 hours, its turbo charging capabilities add up to 8 hours of juice in only 15 minutes. Other specifications include 64GB of internal storage, a quad-core Snapdragon processor, and 4G LTE connectivity. And, yes, this one's wrapped in a Kevlar coating as well.
In terms of software, Motorola has done very little with the Android experience. Keeping the vendor software additions on top of Android nice and light, the Moto Maxx has the same UI as the Moto X (2014) . A key benefit here, of course, is timely updates; Android 5.0 Lollipop updates begin rolling out in the coming weeks.
The Moto Maxx is immediately available at Motorola.com for those living in Brazil. Mexico and Latin American countries will get their hands on the phone later this month.
