"I bought a refurbished PowerBook 1.67 GHz directly from Apple (not a store). It had a hardware problem that prevented me from re-installing the operating system.

"Apple sent me a replacement PowerBook once they got confirmation that I'd shipped the PowerBook back to them. The replacement computer loaded the system fine (it came with Mac OS X 10.3 on it) and seemed to work correctly.

"I then spent many hours loading software to have a working system. However, after I'd done a lot of work, and the system hard froze. I tried an archive and install and erase and install to no avail."
