RealPlayer 8 (beta), in Pro and Basic versions, has been released (previously noted on MacFixIt). A press release describes what's new: Integrated Real.com Media Guide gives you quick and easy access to the best audio and video on the Web. Amazing video quality! Next-generation RealVideo 8 technology offers enriched video quality and smoother playback over both narrow and broadband connections. New integrated radio tuner with immediate access to over 2,500 radio stations. Spectacular visual effects synchronized to your music. Plus all the features you love from RealPlayer 7, including Take5, your daily showcase of the best audio and video content. Update: A reader notes: "Some of the features described in the press release are only for the Windows version. For example, the Macintosh RealPlayer 8 beta does not support visualizations, and the media guide and radio tuner are handled via a web browser rather than integrated in the player. The audio analyzers previously available only in the Plus player are now available for free in the Macintosh version of RealPlayer 8, and a lot of bugs have been fixed."
