Still no dynamic scaling of video Several readers have reported that dynamic scaling of video was lost with the QuickTime 7.1 update, and continues to be lost after the QuickTime 7.1.1 update.

MacFixIt reader Alex writes:

"This functionality was lost with the upgrade to 7.1 on my Dual G4 with an ATI 9800 Pro and is still not there after the update to 7.1.1.

Pro key purchase message Note that, despite some confusion, a new pro registration key is not required after applying the QuickTime 7.1.1 update.

The confusion stems from a message indicating that a pro key is required for QuickTime Pro users with keys valid for previous major releases (5.0, 6.0, etc.).

Fixes Adobe Creative Suite installation issues It appears that QuickTime 7.1.1 fixes a problem where the presence of Quicktime 7.1 causes failure when attempting to install the Adobe Creative Suite 2.0.

One reader writes:

"After update was applied, the installation went smoothly. Prior to this update, it was advised that the only way to install Photoshop CS2 if QT 7.1 was present, was to do an archive and install, then the Photoshop installation, then the remaining Tiger updates."
