HP Inkjets slowdown when printing PDF files A reader received this response from HP about a query on problems printing PDF files in Mac OS X with his DeskJet 932c: "Slow printing is something that sometimes occurs when printing in Mac OS X. This is currently under investigation. Most likely an update to the driver will resolve this." (Thanks, Derik DeLong.)

HP inkjets do not print older AppleWorks files in 6.2.1? Jack Florence writes: "I know of several instances where HP inkjet printers (800/900 series) have been unable to print older data files after updating to Mac OS 10.1 and AppleWorks 6.2.1. The only workaround we have found is to copy/paste the contents of the old file to a new document."

Ethernet port always awake? A reader writes: "I noticed after upgrading to OS X 10.1 that my Ethernet port doesn't shut off when I put my computer to sleep. I use a Titanium PowerBook G4 connected to a hub that connects to my cable modem. Under OS X 10.0.4, the hub's light for my Ethernet connection would go off when I put my PowerBook to sleep. But with OS X 10.1, the light stays on, in fact, it even indicates that there is activity going on."

iTunes CD creation and source files on an NT4 server Jason Snyder writes: "MP3 files that are stored on a NT4 server cannot be burned to CD audio using iTunes. The strange thing is that the files play back from the server just fine. It is only when I go to burn them that iTunes balks. When I move the files to my local drive first, they can be burned to an audio CD just fine. It may be a problem with Apple's implementation of SMB/CIFS."
