New and Noteworthy: ThinkEquity: Apple will benefit from Vista marketing; Macworld Expo sees record attendance
ThinkEquity: Apple will benefit from Vista marketing An analyst with ThinkEquity believes Microsoft's Vista ads are creating a "hardware upgrade mindset" that might benefit Apple. ThinkEquity believes the Vista marketing effort, the buzz around the iPhone, iPod and iTunes and Apple's Mac advertising campaign are likely to encourage many people to think about switching to the Mac platform, stating: 'Meanwhile, Apple's strong retail store presence; all the buzz around the iPhone, the hugely successful iPod/iTunes combo; and Apple's popular Mac ad campaign are likely to combine into a 'maybe I should buy a Mac' decision.'" Macworld Expo sees record attendance Ars Technica reports on attendance figures for this year's Macworld Expo in San Francisco. "The Expo this year had 45,572 attendees?up from 38,441 in 2006. Can we expect it to continue to go up? Most likely. Although there were many complaints that this year's Macworld was very non-Mac centric and focused more around gadgets (and that is probably not going to change a whole lot in the future either), both newbies and greybeards alike will still feel compelled to make the trip to San Francisco every year to see Steve Jobs' new announcements."
