Several applications, devices and interface enhancements are dramatically affected by current builds of Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) according to reader reports. Some cease to function alltogether, and other experience only minor glitches.

Norton Utilities 7 Several readers report that Norton Utilities 7 does not operate under the latest build of Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar), failing to recognize any disks, regardless of what operating system version they contain.

Brother Multi-function 8500 printer Brandon McWhirter reports loss of critical functionality in the driver for Brother's Multi-function 8500 model printer under Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar):

"The problem is when I add the printer via USB in the Print Center, the system does nothing. You can walk away and have some lunch and watch a movie and it is still sitting there. Brother simply pointed me to the OS X 10.1 driver, which does not work."

Firewalk X 2 Pliris Software lets us know that their Firewalk X 2 firewall utility is currently not compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar):

"We'd like to let users know that current versions of Firewalk X 2 will not run properly on Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar). We suggest either disabling Firewalk X 2 before the upgrade or uninstalling it. Versions prior to 2.1.5 will probably incur system panics and all versions prior to 2.1.7 (unreleased) will have other functionality problems. We'll try to have a 10.2-ready version by August 24th (Jaguar's release date)."
