Get a Sharp 50-inch LED HDTV for $598 shipped
That's a great price, but it gets even better: the TV comes with a $200 Dell eGift card.
I like any deal that goes, "Hey, here's a bargain price on this thing, and while we're at it, take this big fat extra thing, too."
Like this one: Dell is offering the Sharp Aquos LC-50LE442U 50-inch LED HDTV for $598 shipped (plus sales tax in some states). And while the company's at it, Dell will give you a $200 eGift card, too. In other words, a $200 store credit.
To put that in some perspective, Best Buy currently has the same TV on sale for $599.99 shipped (plus sales tax in most states) -- and no gift card. Dell's deal: better.
What could you accomplish on a $200 Dell spending spree? You could grab yourself a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) for $99.99 and a Netgear N750 dual-band router for $99.99 -- just a couple examples off the top of my head. Or maybe use it to defray the cost of a color laser printer or even a new laptop. However you use it, that's a pretty big credit to play around with. (Make sure you read the promo terms first.)
As for the TV, Sharp's Aquos line has a pretty solid reputation, although this model is decidedly no-frills. It has a 60Hz refresh rate (a feature I actually prefer, because you don't get that hideous soap-opera effect), three HDMI ports, a USB port (for connecting a digital camera or flash drive), and 20 watts of speaker power. Not included: Wi-Fi or any smart features to speak of. (Dell doesn't carry Roku boxes, but you could use your credit on a Netgear NeoTV streaming player, which delivers Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, and the like for $49.99.)
CNET hasn't reviewed this model, but if you hit up that Best Buy link above, you'll see that over 60 customers collectively rated it 4.5 stars out of 5. That's a pretty rousing endorsement. And this is a pretty sweet deal on a big TV, especially when you factor in that big fat Dell credit.
Bonus deal: If you like your Bluetooth speakers orb-shaped and paint-splattered (and I know you do), you'll like this: while supplies last (and they probably won't last long), Accessory Genie has the Gogroove BlueSync OR3 portable Bluetooth speaker for $39.99 shipped when you apply coupon code OR3SOUND at checkout. It features a 16-hour battery and looks like someone spattered pink paint on a cool blue orb.
