Apple celebrating Steve Jobs' life next week
Apple employees will gather to celebrate the life of co-founder Steve Jobs next week, says a memo from Tim Cook.
Chief Executive Tim Cook has sent a memo to Apple staff detailing a celebration of company co-founder Steve Jobs' life to be held next Wednesday.
The celebration will be held in the company's campus in Cupertino, California, with other plans to be arranged for Apple employees worldwide.
MacGeneration has obtained a copy of the memo, which reads:
"Team, like many of you, I have experienced the saddest days of my lifetime and shed many tears during the past week. But I've found some comfort in the extraordinary number of tributes and condolences from people all over the world who were touched by Steve and his genius. And I've found comfort in both telling and listening to stories about Steve.
"Although many of our hearts are still heavy, we are planning a celebration of his life for Apple employees to take time to remember the incredible things Steve achieved in his life and the many ways he made our world a better place."
The celebration will take place on Wednesday 19 October at the Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino, with arrangements to be made for employees based elsewhere.
Jobs died last week aged 56, following a battle with cancer. Tributes have flooded in from all over the world. You can read our obituary here.
