"This isn't the iPhone 4S?"
on by jamoudPros Decent package
Cons Outdated OS, iMaps, nothing new but the higher price
Summary Only minor updates compared to iPhone 4S, but you could do worse. iPhone 4S is a good phone and 5 is slightly better, but I would not change 4S to 5.

"Switched from EVO 4G to iPhone 5 - Still on the fence."
on by tjosephjrPros Very stylish phone if it's not in a case.
Intuitive, easy to pick and use as a semi-convert.
The size is a nice change.
Lightweight
It's nice to have a phone that doubles as an ipod.Cons No back button!!!
No widgets
Speed isn't faster for me
Scratches very easily
The keyboard
Navigation
"Reader" button when expanding page
Siri is a letdown
Having to deal with the Apple Store
Entering Apple ID constantlySummary The jury is still out for me. I have to decide to stick it out for two years with this phone or switch back to the familiarity of the droid. I've only had the phone for five days, so I will push it to the last minute.
I miss my widgets and I miss having a menu for each app. There's perhaps a learning curve here, but having a simple menu button for each app just seems sensible to me.
Siri, what a letdown! After the commercials, I was as excited as a little kid at Christmas to play with Siri. So far the only thing that's been any fun with Siri is changing the accent of Siri.
Having to go to the Apple store to get any support is truly frustrating! I had to make an appt with a "Genius" just to purchase the extended warranty!!! Sorry, but that is RIDICULOUS!!! Especially since the Apple store is a complete madhouse day and night. If I never have to step foot in that store again, that would please me to no end.
As the navigation that comes with the phone is woefully lacking, I had to download Telenav GPS, which was free on the EVO and not free, for some reason, on the iPhone.
When I expand a page on the internet, the text does not fit within the screen, which may be a deal breaker. Some pages have the option to hit the "reader" button, but it's still not the same. I really miss that feature from the EVO...that and the back button :)
I never considered myself the type of user that would miss the freedom of the droid platform, but I don't think I realized that some of the functions on the droid that I took for granted were due to said freedom.
I guess I will have to figure out which way I'm going to go by the end of next week. But if I go back to a droid, it will not be the Samsung III. Open for suggestions!!! (respectful suggestions) -
"Best Phone Ever!"
on by MikeyInTheDPros -Light
-Thin
-Fast
-iOS6
-Solid feel - no plastic here
-Screen size and resolution
-Apple eco-systemCons -Still not to 4.6" screen - but that's not a complaint about the performance or usage of this product.
Summary I have purchased every iPhone the day it was released. This is by far the one I was least excited about, but after using it for a couple weeks it is the best generation upgrade with the iPhone yet. Telling you it's light and thinner doesn't really mean much until you have it in your hand. This thing is light, thin, but doesn't feel cheap like Samsung products (no plastic here please). Everything is as expected from the flagship Apple prodcut - amazing screen, iOS6 dominated Android, solid construction, best App store, easiest user interface, and best customer service company in the world. The only complaints people have is - Apple Maps (it will fix itself over time and 99% of people haven't had an issue, they just want to complain - I love the Apple Maps!) and that Verizon/Sprint you can't use voice and data at the same time (that's a carrier issue).
I would never consider any other phone - there isn't one thing someone else is offering that I need that I can't find in the iPhone. Are there improvements to made? Sure, if not then Apple would never have to produce a new iPhone ever again. But those issues are minor and are forgotten once you're using this phone on a daily basis. I've never once had an issue with Apple Maps or anything else people complain about. My battery life is amazing and I'm a heavy user. -
"Best Phone Period"
on by mrobbins10Pros Almost everything - Camera is 2nd to none. IOS is so much more stable then Android OS. So much faster then my IPhone 4. LTE is great.
Cons I would have like to see a slightly bigger screen. But, I understand that I have bigger hands than a lot of people so I get what Apple was trying to do.
Summary I am not seeing the issues with the Maps app that others are seeing and I have used it a fair amount already. I had more frustration with the Google Maps program so this was a welcome upgrade for me. However, I am seeing it so much in the reviews I trust there are problems. Very very happy with the other upgrades, LTE is great, speed overall is great. Camera is just awesome. The look and feel of the phone is the best since the 1st Gen. Iphone. New earphones sound great but the old ones fit my ear a little better for me. Siri is fun to mess around with, but still a little inconsistent. For those who loved Google Maps and youTube apps, Youtube app is already available and the Google maps one is already with Apple for approval so be patient, everything will be OK.
