Does anyone remember how to write without a keyboard? Like, with a pen? No matter, because this small bot can do it for you.
Its line of Piccolo microcontrollers can reduce power consumption significantly of home appliances, hybrid cars, LED lighting, and even solar panels.
Advanced RISC Machines showcased its ARM 7TDSP processor, code-named Piccolo at the Microprocessor Forum. It combines a 32-bit RISC processor with a digital signal processor (DSP) on a single bus. DSPs are adept at handling multimedia data types. ARM said that the new chip will be ideal for applications that need both a microcontroller and a DSP running real-time operating systems, such as smart phones, modems, or Internet appliances such as set-top boxes. It will be available in early 1997.
