Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 (Body Only, Black)

Though we still really like Panasonic's GF series, there are several trade-offs to take into account before you buy the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2. Its raw-format images look extremely good, but JPEG shooters looking for best-possible photo quality may get frustrated by image artifacts. And while lots of photographers will appreciate its relatively compact but functional design and zippy performance--though still not for action shooting--there's nothing special about its feature set, including underpowered video capture.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 (Body Only, Black)

It's speedy, feature-packed, and an excellent ILC for shooting video, but to consistently get really good photos out of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 requires shooting raw.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 (with 14-42mm lens, Black)

Although the photos look a hair noisier and overprocessed compared with many competitors, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 has a lot to recommend about it--including a flip-and-twist touch-screen and speedy performance.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1K

If you're willing to pay a premium to be on the cutting edge of digital photography and video, and as long as you don't shoot sports or in dark venues, then you'll likely love the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1. But if you're simply attracted by the not-to-be-underestimated flexibility of interchangeable lenses with autofocus and depth-of-field control for video, wait for the price to fall a few hundred bucks.

Panasonic CQ-C8305U

The Panasonic CQ-C8305U performs the basic functions of a digital-age car stereo well with great audio-tweaking options, intuitive file and folder navigation, and a worthwhile iPod interface. The stereo's full-motion color display adds little to its usability or attractiveness and its Bluetooth is disappointing.

Panasonic Toughbook 74 - 13.3" - Core 2 Duo P8600 - Vista Business / XP Pro downgrade - 2 GB RAM - 160 GB HDD

The Panasonic ToughBook 74 boasts unique durability features and a fantastic warranty, but its high price and bulky dimensions make it a good buy only if your job necessitates extreme working environments. It'll take more than the fear of a spilled cup of coffee to justify the premium and the added heft.
