A solid first effort in a nascent category, the Sony Handycam NEX-VG10 nevertheless needs some conceptual refinement.
While it produces solid video with good color and dynamic range, the VG10 should be better for the money.
Here are my first image samples from the Sony Handycam NEX-VG10. Unfortunately, I'm on the road and my laptop is unsuited to any image or video analysis, but I'll update this slideshow next week with more information. I'll also write a hands-on preview. The NEX-VG10 is generally great, but it has some really awkward operations quirks, which will be annoying especially for EVF devotees.

The Sony Handycam NEX-VG10, equipped with the new 18-200mm kit E-mount lens, is quite heavy but physically well designed. It also uses a very NEX-like menu system, which I don't think is really appropriate for a product of this type.
