The new facility is a 200-mm wafer operation capable of producing 30,000 wafers a month. The plant is now in pilot production of 128-MB DRAMs using 0.175-micron technology. By late 2000, Nanya expects to bring 256-MB DRAM production to market.
The world's fourth-largest DRAM maker and semiconductor maker Nanya Technology form a joint venture to establish a facility that will produce 300-millimeter wafers.
