Short Take: Motorola hires Ericsson exec to run sector

Motorola has named Bo Hedfors, president and chief executive officer of Swedish telecom equipment company Ericsson's U.S division, to head its network solutions sector. He is charged with overseeing the company's cellular communications networks and iDEN digital wireless communications technology. A 30-year Ericcson veteran, Hedfors is the first outsider tapped to head a Motorola sector since that designation was instituted in the late 1980s, a company spokesman said.
