NetGuard, a subsidiary of LanOptics, is now shipping Guardian Firewall 3.0 for Windows NT. A recent independent test found the Guardian Firewall twice as fast as the next fastest, NT firewall based on "stateful inspection" technology. The new version introduces a new capability that lets network administrators create, install, and manage multiple isolated security zones. Pricing was not released.
PowerQuest announced its PartitionMagic 3.0. Users can manage multiple operating systems and reclaim lost storage space on their hard drives by adjusting cluster size while resizing partitions, according to the company. Users create separate partitions for each operating system, eliminating compatibility conflicts. It incorporates IBM's Boot Manager and features from MicroHelp's Uninstaller.
