This Diskeeper software along with an 8GB SanDisk SSD apparently cut Windows boot times and program launch times significantly.
If you're too lazy to run the Windows defragger, Diskeeper 8.0 will automatically defragment your drive for you.
Scheduled to launch in the first quarter, Diskeeper's new program is designed to quickly and automatically clear up any fragmentation on your hard disk.
Its set-it-and-forget-it ease of use makes Diskeeper 7.0 the best defrag tool available. It's pricey, however, so if you're not picky and don't need granular defrag control, Microsoft's free utility should suffice.
Executive Software announced that Microsoft has agreed to include a manual version of Executive Diskeeper defragmenter in the Microsoft Windows NT 5.0 operating system. Periodic defragmentation of disks in certain circumstances maximize system performance, according to the company. Suggested retail prices are $75 for Diskeeper for Windows NT Workstation and $399 for Diskeeper for Windows NT Server. Available platforms include Intel and Alpha. There are no client-access charges.
