New Visio to accompany Office XP

Microsoft on Wednesday released to manufacturing its Visio 2002 diagramming and drawing software. Many of Visio's new features are targeted at software developers, particularly support for XML (extensible markup language), a popular Web standard for businesses to exchange information via the Internet. The new version goes on sale May 31, the same as Office XP for which Visio 2002 is a complimentary product. The standard version will sell for $199 and a professional version for $499. The upgrade from the standard version will be $99 and $249 for the professional version.
