New HP campaign pushes photo products

As part of a new campaign to publicize its various consumer-oriented digital photography products, Hewlett-Packard is asking people to contribute photos for use in what the company claims will be the "world's largest digital image." Kicked off Wednesday at the National Inventors Hall of Fame in Akron, Ohio, the "HP Invent America" campaign asks people to "celebrate America's spirit of inventiveness" by submitting photos of themselves alongside their favorite inventions. The shots will be combined in a montage to be unveiled in October. HP said that for the first 10,000 photos submitted, it will donate $1 per shot to Camp Invention, a one-week day camp for grade school children organized by the nonprofit Hall of Fame and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. HP sponsors the camp.
