HP Spectre 13 x2

A rare larger-screen hybrid, the HP Spectre x2 aims to be both a portable laptop and a video-friendly slate. The price is right, but the design feels awkward and the wonky touch pad makes it hard to use as a full-time laptop.

Lenovo ThinkPad X100e 2876 - Turion Neo X2 L625 1.6GHz - 11.6

The dual-core version of the ThinkPad x100e is a much better bet than the original single-core version. Battery life is still an issue, but it's a nice-to-the-touch 11.6-inch business Netbook.

Dell Inspiron Zino HD (AMD Athlon X2)

In the right configuration, Dell's Inspiron Zino HD will fit seamlessly into your living room as a PC-based video source. Fortunately, Dell offers the right upgrades to get you to the hallowed ground of PC-based video content--just be prepared to spend a little bit more to get there.

Alienware Aurora ALX - Athlon 64 FX 60 2.6 GHz

Alienware's Quad SLI PC features four distinct 3D graphics processors, placing it among the most advanced consumer PCs around. But we're not convinced that this expensive Nvidia technology delivers enough 3D muscle for the money. Furthermore, we'd caution anyone about buying an ultra-high-end desktop now, with Windows Vista and new 3D features right around the corner.

ABS Ultimate M6 Sniper - Athlon 64 FX 60 2.6 GHz - 19 TFT

Its Athlon 64 FX-60 CPU isn't overclocked, and its pair of graphics cards can be trumped, but the ABS Ultimate M6 Sniper is still plenty fast for gamers and boasts excellent build quality, a good mix of high-performance component, and stable operation.
